John Nealon, along with Dr. David Staskin, co-founded UroCure in 2018. John has devoted over 25 years of his career to the medical device industry, and eleven of those years he was part of the senior executive team in Urology and Women’s Health at American Medical Systems (AMS).
His teams launched multiple highly-successful products, and ultimately guided AMS’s women’s health business to market leadership positions in surgical incontinence and prolapse with more than $170M in revenue. John has a finely-honed business acumen paired with a patient-focused approach: he is committed to making women’s lives better through medical technology. John graduated from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and holds a BS in chemical engineering from Northwestern.

David Staskin, MD

Dr. David Staskin, along with John Nealon, co-founded UroCure. Dr. Staskin brings unparalleled credentials to his role as UroCure’s Chief Medical Officer. He is the inventor of the SPARC and RetroArc slings—precursors to UroCure’s ArcTV sling. After urologic training at the University of
Pennsylvania, Dr. Staskin completed a fellowship in female urology at UCLA. He has served on the urology faculty at Boston University, Harvard, Cornell, and Tufts. He co-edited the textbook Female Urology and Urogynecology and has authored over 145 articles on the treatment of incontinence. Dr. Staskin has served on the Executive Boards of the American Urogynecological Society (AUGS) and the Society of Urodynamics and Female Urology (SUFU), and for over 30 years, he has been a respected thought leader, lecturer, and educator in medical device and uropharmacology.

Nancy Ness is the Principal at Ness & Associates, a financial consulting company founded in 1996. Nancy brings broad financial expertise to her role as UroCure’s Chief Financial Officer. She has been acting CFO for over forty private and publicly traded medical device, diagnostic, and
pharmaceutical companies, where her responsibilities have included raising equity, debt and bridge financing, managing operating funds, assisting with all areas of human resources, budgets, financial forecast modeling, and tax returns. Nancy has a BS in business administration and accounting from the University of St. Thomas.

Michael Ryan

Mike Ryan comes to UroCure with more than 30 years of experience in pelvic health.
He has worked closely with physicians at top institutions during his career, introducing 30+ pioneering technologies that address urology and urogynecology conditions.
He began his career at American Medical Systems (AMS), a world leader in male and female urological devices, and managed responsibilities for building sales teams and establishing international offices in Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Japan. Mike earned his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management at the University of Arizona, and a BA from Wittenberg University in Ohio.

Sew-Wah Tay founded and serves as the President and CEO of Libra Medical which offers consultancy services on clinical, quality, and regulatory systems to medical device companies. Over the course of her 30+ year career, she has served as VP for RA and CA for American Medical Systems (AMS);
Velocimed/St. Jude Medical, and Survivalink/ Cardiac Science. Sew-Wah has a PhD and two master’s degrees from MIT, with concentrations in the areas of biomaterials, chemical engineering, and food engineering. She holds numerous patents, is the co-author of six publications, and is highly effective as a strategic thinker who collaborates successfully with R&D and operation teams.
